Description

Unlock the beauty of Sashiko embroidery by designing and stitching repeating patterns that are both aesthetically pleasing and practical in the Learn Sashiko: Pattern Making class. Sashiko is a traditional Japanese embroidery style that dates back to the 1600s and is commonly used to reinforce and mend clothing with decorative stitching.

In this class, join experienced instructors Erica Furman and Joanie Schwarz at Joanie’s studio and gallery, Atelier Telluride, in the heart of downtown Telluride. You’ll learn how to use the simple repeated running stitch technique to create geometric patterns that can be used for purely decorative purposes or to mend and reinforce fabric.

  • Please bring your articles of clothing or fabric to the class. Ideally, get something you want to reinforce, patch, or mend. The Ah Haa School will provide all the supplies and materials needed to complete your project.

  • The class will be held at Atelier Telluride, 215 E Colorado Ave, Telluride.
