Join us for a three-day celebration of the book and those who love and craft them. We will explore the International Biennial CODEX Book Art Fair featuring international limited-edition fine press books and artists’ books, where craft and concept unite into an exemplified work of art. We will be treated to a behind-the-cover tour of Arion Press, publishers of limited editions printed in their letterpress shop with one-of-a-kind collection of historic metal typefaces, a type foundry now in continuous operation for over 100 years. We will also visit Stanford University’s Rare Books Special Collection. Our explorations will be bounded by dinners at Chez Panisse in Berkeley and Green’s Restaurant in San Francisco, as well as other culinary surprises.
