Description

In this workshop, participants will learn the art of metal smithing to create silver cuff bracelets. Students will learn the basics of working with metal, including proper tool handling and use, as well as the use of soldering techniques. Through hands-on instruction and demonstration, students will develop unique designs and learn how to fabricate their pieces using various metalworking techniques.

 

Participants will also learn how to add exciting surface textures to their designs using a rolling mill and metal stamps. By the end of the workshop, students will have a beautiful and personalized silver cuff bracelet to take home and the skills and knowledge to continue creating unique pieces of wearable art.

 

No previous experience is required and all materials and tools will be provided. This class will take place off site at one of Ah Haa School for the Art’s satellite locations. Address available upon registration.  

 

About the Instructor

Tony Finocchio is a jewelry artist living and working in Telluride, CO. Tony’s studio, MetalRock Designs, specializes in handcrafted silver and mixed metal jewelry designed for the free-spirited by the free-spirited. For the last eight years, MetalRock Designs has been commissioned by the Telluride Blues and Brews Festival to produce the official handmade pendant for the festival. Tony’s work is represented at Slate Gray Gallery and Picaya in Telluride, Ortega’s on the Plaza and Karen Melfi Collection in Santa Fe, and Creative Framing Art Gallery in Louisville, CO. Since 2018, Tony has been a core instructor at Ah Haa School for the arts, offering wildly popular jewelry and metal arts classes for both youth and adult students.
