Description

Discover the art of metalworking and learn how to create stunning textured silver rings in this exciting workshop. Students will use various hand tools, including hammers, saws, and files, to form and solder a sterling silver ring of their unique design. During the workshop, participants will learn how to add texture and visual interest to their designs using metalworking techniques, including hammering, stamping, and filing. By experimenting with different tools and techniques, students will create a personalized and striking ring that reflects their own style and creativity.

 

No previous experience is required and all materials and tools will be provided. This class will take place off site at one of Ah Haa School for the Art’s satellite locations. Address available upon registration.

 

About the Instructor

Tony Finocchio is a jewelry artist living and working in Telluride, CO. Tony’s studio, MetalRock Designs, specializes in handcrafted silver and mixed metal jewelry designed for the free-spirited by the free-spirited. For the last eight years, MetalRock Designs has been commissioned by the Telluride Blues and Brews Festival to produce the official handmade pendant for the festival. Tony’s work is represented at Slate Gray Gallery and Picaya in Telluride, Ortega’s on the Plaza and Karen Melfi Collection in Santa Fe, and Creative Framing Art Gallery in Louisville, CO. Since 2018, Tony has been a core instructor at Ah Haa School for the arts, offering wildly popular jewelry and metal arts classes for both youth and adult students.
