Description

Learn the ancient technique of wool wet-felting and deepen your connection to the people, lands, and animal agriculture of the west. You will learn the basic techniques of felting and be guided toward the making of your own felted wool art tapestry amongst a like-hearted community. This class is designed for first-time felters and those with some experience. Students are expected to leave the class with a finished tapestry after the two days.

All materials provided, but students are encouraged to bring a large stick/piece of driftwood for the top of their tapestry as a hanger.

About the Instructor

A classically trained artist, Meghan studied fine art at the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design and earned a degree in art education from the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee. Her transition to wool as an art medium accompanied her journey to Livingston, Montana where she now resides with her husband and two children.

Through experimentation with felting, Meghan carried her inspiration from the landscape into a new art medium. Her work blends rich textures with an evolved, modern look creating wonderfully tactile yet refined art.
