Description

In this dynamic jewelry workshop, participants will explore the art of riveting metal to create stunning and unique pendants. Using copper and brass, students will learn the basics of metalworking, including cutting, piercing, and riveting metal. Through hands-on instruction and guidance from local artist Tony Finocchio, students will learn how to create textures and designs using various metalworking techniques. By the end of the workshop, students will have developed the skills and knowledge to create personalized and eye-catching pendants that reflect their style and creativity.

 

No previous experience is required and all materials and tools will be provided.  This class will take place off site at one of Ah Haa School for the Art’s satellite locations. Address available upon registration. 

 

About the Instructor

Tony Finocchio is a jewelry artist living and working in Telluride, CO. Tony’s studio, MetalRock Designs, specializes in handcrafted silver and mixed metal jewelry designed for the free-spirited by the free-spirited. For the last eight years, MetalRock Designs has been commissioned by the Telluride Blues and Brews Festival to produce the official handmade pendant for the festival. Tony’s work is represented at Slate Gray Gallery and Picaya in Telluride, Ortega’s on the Plaza and Karen Melfi Collection in Santa Fe, and Creative Framing Art Gallery in Louisville, CO. Since 2018, Tony has been a core instructor at Ah Haa School for the arts, offering wildly popular jewelry and metal arts classes for both youth and adult students.
