Sustainability in Art

Ah Haa School for the Arts and the American Academy of Bookbinding are driven by
curiosity and the transformative power of imagination. Through art we learn how to be
more consciously connected to our world and more deeply compassionate as we build
caring communities. We celebrate the deep and resonating value of responsible
stewardship that allows individuals to discover, create, share, and thrive while honoring the planet that sustains us.

We are committed to cultivating a learning setting that reflects and models eco-
conscious practices. Through education, mindfulness, and transparency, we strive to
reduce waste, reuse resources, and repurpose materials in ways that challenge us to
live more intentionally. We resolve to integrate environmentally responsible
practices into our programs, operations, and local partnerships so that creativity and
care for the earth are inseparable. By aligning our practices with these values, we seek
to inspire meaningful change that ensures future generations will have the same
opportunities to learn, create, and feel included.
