Transformation Studio
Join regional artist Ouida Touchon for a single-day entry-level class on the essentials of Monoprinting. In this class, you will learn various monoprinting techniques with the etching press, brush up on the rules of composition, and deepen your understanding of line, form, and value from light to dark.
Through hands-on practice, you will learn and experiment with various printing techniques, including inking and texturing plexiglass plates, inking vellum shapes, and overprinting in layers to gain gradation, color, value, shape, and line details.
About the Instructor:
Ouida Touchón is a visual artist from New Mexico, now living in Delta, Colorado who spends most of her waking moments at the easel or the press. She has her BFA in painting from the Kansas City Art Institute, and her Master of Art from the University of Missouri at Kansas City in studio arts. In addition, she has studied with mentors and distinguished printmakers and painters in Italy, Mexico, and the United States. Her work has been exhibited at various galleries and museums including El Paso Museum of Art, the Federal Building in Las Cruces New Mexico, and the Las Cruces Museum of Art, Arvada Colorado Center for the Arts, Red Brick Center for the Arts, Aspen. Previous to establishing her home and studio in Delta, Ouida lived in Denver and was an active artist- member of ArtGym Denver where she worked on her portfolio of mixed media and one of a kind artworks.
