Description

This workshop, a collaboration between Ah Haa School for the Arts and Tri-County Health, offers a safe space to explore and express grief through artistic creation. No prior art experience is necessary. Through a guided painting class using various art materials, you’ll gain tools to:

Connect with your emotions surrounding loss
Honor memories and create a visual tribute
Find solace and release in the creative process

This class is for anyone experiencing grief, whether recent or long-held.
Megan Wise is a Certified Life Coach (CLC) and Certified Bereavement Care Provider. Through training, certification, and personal experience, she is able to help people experiencing deep grief find ways for their grief to be witnessed and discover how to live with the new weight they carry, while honoring the one who died.

Daniel Kanow is a contemporary visual artist who regularly teaches at Ah Haa School for the Arts. He received his BFA from UC Santa Cruz and is a MFA candidate through the Academy of Art University. As an art mentor and life coach with his business, Break Through Your Art, Kanow teaches and coaches different modalities of expressive painting and drawing where he empowers his students to create passion-driven art through personalized instruction and artistic refinement.

Attendees are welcome but not required to bring a memento or photo of a loved one. All art supplies will be supplied by Ah Haa School for the Arts.

Those under 18 years old must be accompanied by a parent or guardian who is also registered for the class. All youth and adult participants must register separately using the appropriate link.
